2011 New England Kayak Fishing's Mass Bay Striper Shootout
New England Kayak Fishing Inc. (NEKF) (www.newenglandkayakfishing.com) is preparing for the seventh (7th) annual Mass Bay Striper Shootout to be held in the Boston, Massachusetts area on August 19-21, 2011. The event will once again be a three day, catch, photo and release tournament and is expected to remain one of the largest tournaments of its kind on the East Coast. We expect approximately 150 entries for the tournament with anglers from all over New England as well as New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and beyond. 2010 participation included anglers from as far away as California and Canada. This past year, sizable donations were made to the Greater Salem Boys and Girls Club, the Tufts New England Medical Center’s Children’s Cancer Center and Casting for Recovery (a breast cancer support/educational organization) with proceeds from the tournament.

Reel Recovery is a national non-profit organization that conducts free fly-fishing retreats for men battling all forms of cancer. Combining expert fly-fishing instruction with supportive conversations, Reel Recovery offers a unique experience for men with cancer: a time to share their stories, learn a new skill, form lasting friendships and gain renewed hope as they confront the challenges of their recovery.
